Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly readying summer bids for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, who is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract.

Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly prepared bids for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

The England international continues to be linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge amid uncertainty over his contract situation.

Mount is set to enter the final 12 months of his deal, and talks over an extension have proven to be difficult.

There is a belief that Mount wants a salary that would move him in line with the biggest earners at the club, while he is reluctant to agree to a lengthy contract that has become the norm under co-owner Todd Boehly.

Talks over a new deal have been put on hold until the end of the season, but if the two parties are unable to reach an agreement, then Chelsea may look to sell their academy graduate this summer.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool and Arsenal are both preparing to make offers for the 24-year-old at the end of the season.

Jurgen Klopp will overhaul his midfield ahead of the 2023-24 campaign, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner expected to depart on free transfers.

After pulling out of the race to sign Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham this summer, Liverpool are now set to turn their attention to Mount.

Like the Merseyside club, Arsenal are also expected to bolster their midfield, and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is believed to be their top priority.

However, with West Ham set to demand over £100m for the 24-year-old, the Gunners may decide that Mount is a more viable option.

Mount is also attracting interest from German giants Bayern Munich, who are managed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel is urging the Bavarians to enter the race, and they are confident that they could match offers submitted by Arsenal and Liverpool.

Manchester United are also monitoring the situation, while Newcastle United have been linked with the Chelsea midfielder.

Mount has scored three goals and provided six assists in 35 competitive appearances this term, but he has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a pelvic injury.
