A report claims that Victor Lindelof is unhappy with his lack of appearances in the Premier League this season, having last featured in the top flight on January 1.

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof reportedly wants face-to-face talks with manager Jose Mourinho after struggling to break into the first team.

The Sweden international is said to have been left frustrated by his lack of appearances in major fixtures since arriving at Old Trafford in a £31m deal last June.

Lindelof was used for the full 90 minutes of Wednesday night's goalless Champions League draw at Sevilla, but The Sun suggests that the centre-back is concerned about a lack of starts in the Premier League.

Not since the New Year's Day win over Everton has the ex-Benfica man been used in the top flight - one of just seven starts in the competition.

An Old Trafford source is quoted by the publication as saying: "Victor wants to know which direction his early career is going here. He hasn't played on a regular basis for a while. His camp is a bit bemused why he hasn't been playing more.

"Everyone knows about the early struggles but he has come on a lot since then and has worked really hard. Victor is a really strong trainer. He does not want to rock the boat at the club, he just wants reassurances."

Lindelof was used alongside Chris Smalling in Seville, with Eric Bailly being kept in reserve on his comeback from a three-month layoff.
