Juventus 'failed with summer swap offer for Paul Pogba'

Juventus had a two-player swap offer for Paul Pogba rejected by Manchester United over the summer, according to a report.

Juventus reportedly had a two-player swap offer for Paul Pogba rejected by Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old's agent Mino Raiola recently claimed that his client's time at United is "over" and has urged the Red Devils to sell the midfielder at the start of 2021.

A recent report claimed that Juve could re-sign the France international in January, although it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to meet the English club's asking price.

According to Calciomercato, the Italian champions attempted to bring Pogba back to Turin over the summer by offering both Miralem Pjanic and Douglas Costa as part of a move worth €100m (£91.5m).

However, the report claims that the 20-time English champions were quick to reject the bid as they did not view either player as a target.

Pjanic ultimately left Andrea Pirlo's side to join Barcelona in a swap deal for Arthur, while Costa re-joined Bayern Munich on loan.

Pogba, who has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2022, won four Serie A titles during his time with Juve before returning to the Red Devils.
