Jadon Sancho is reportedly favouring a loan switch over a permanent move away from Manchester United in January, with Borussia Dortmund and Juventus potential suitors.

Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho is reportedly prepared to leave on loan during the January transfer window, as the player's exile from first-team activities continues.

The 23-year-old joined the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021 after a succesful four-year spell in the Bundesliga, however things have not transpired how the winger would have planned so far at Old Trafford.

Sancho has appeared 82 times for United, scoring 12 goals - a sharp decrease in goalscoring form considering that he netted 50 goals in 137 games for Dortmund between 2017 and 2021.

Following a falling out with head coach Erik ten Hag in August, the England international has not played for the club since the 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on August 26.

According to the Evening Standard, Sancho would prefer a loan switch away from Man United in January instead of a permanent move which would see his ties with the 20-time English champions severed.

The report claims that the former Manchester City youngster would favour a temporary switch as he aims to eventually make a return to the first-team fold at Old Trafford - whether that be under the stewardship of Ten Hag or another head coach in the future.

It is understood that United's hierarchy are willing to listen to offers for the winger in the New Year, with a few top European outfits already interested in the player's services.

A return to Signal Iduna Park could be on the cards for Sancho, with perennial Bundesliga title challengers Dortmund keen on bringing the attacker back to Germany for the second half of the 2023-24 term.

It is also claimed that Serie A giants Juventus are admirers of the Englishman, as the Old Lady look to secure Champions League football this term after finishing seventh under Massimiliano Allegri last time around.

Both Dortmund and Juve have reportedly contacted Sancho's representatives over a potential January switch, although it is currently unknown which destination the player would prefer.

With the winger refusing to apologise to Ten Hag following a strongly-worded Instagram post, Sancho will continue to train alone at United's Carrington base and will not be considered for selection.

The Red Devils have endured a testing start to the campaign in their second full term under the leadership of the Dutchman, winning four and losing four of their opening eight Premier League matches.

Sitting 10th in the top-flight standings, United's ambitious pre-season aims of challenging the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal for the league crown are currently far from reality.

A trip to Bramall Lane on Saturday night provides Man United with a chance to record back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time this term, with Sheffield United one of only two sides in the division yet to pick up a win.
