Burnley striker Danny Ings will reportedly reject a summer move to Liverpool in favour of joining rivals Manchester United.
The 22-year-old's contract at Turf Moor is due to expire in the summer, which will make him a free agent.
Liverpool were believed to be the favourites to sign the England Under-21 international, but, following interest from United manager Louis van Gaal, a switch to Old Trafford is now more likely, according to the Daily Star.
It has been suggested that Van Gaal has identified Ings as a potential replacement for Radamel Falcao, who is likely to return to AS Monaco at the end of his season-long loan stint with the Red Devils.
The Clarets will be due compensation for Ings, which is likely to be valued at around £5m.
