Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is reportedly open to joining Manchester United this summer.

The 29-year-old, who turns 30 in July, will enter the final 12 months of his contract at the end of the season, and talks over extending his current deal are yet to have taken place.

Although Spurs have somewhat underperformed under Antonio Conte so far this season, Kane has continued his prolific form in front of goal, netting 15 goals in 20 Premier League appearances.

The England skipper has scored a total of 265 goals in 414 games across all competitions for Tottenham and is just one goal away from drawing level with Jimmy Greaves as the club's all-time record goalscorer.

Kane is regarded as one of the world's best strikers, but he is yet to win a single trophy for club or country and it has been suggested that he may seek pastures new as he enters the prime years of his career.

Tottenham's No.10 was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer of 2021, but the reigning Premier League champions refused to meet the £150m price-tag set by chairman Daniel Levy.

Man United and Real Madrid have since been credited with an interest along with perennial Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich, who enquired about the striker's availability last summer after selling Robert Lewandowski.

According to the Daily Mail, Man United are plotting a 'mega summer swoop' to recruit Kane, with head coach Erik ten Hag prioritising the signing of a new centre-forward ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

The report adds that Red Devils chiefs have already begun 'exploring the particulars attached' to a possible deal for the Englishman, who would be open to swapping North London for Old Trafford.

In addition, Tottenham's chances of penning Kane to fresh terms are said to be fading, which could force Levy to sell their leading marksman or risk losing him for free in 12 months' time.

Tottenham are now thought to value Kane in excess of £85m, although that figure could increase for interested Premier League clubs as Levy is still reluctant to sell the striker to a domestic rival.

Kane is not the only striker believed to be on United's radar, as they are also said to be keeping tabs on Napoli's Victor Osimhen and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, the latter of whom is currently on loan at Red Bull Salzburg.

Ten Hag reinforced his frontline with the loan addition of Wout Weghorst last week, and the Red Devils boss has admitted that more fresh faces could arrive at Old Trafford this month.

"I think as Manchester United you always have to look for solutions, and always you have to look for better and that is what we will do," Ten Hag told reporters on Friday. "We will be doing our research and if there are opportunities, we have to go for it."

United are currently in a strong position to secure at least a top-four spot in the Premier League this season, as they sit six points clear of fifth-placed Spurs with a game in hand, while they could move to within five points of leaders Arsenal if they beat the Gunners on Sunday.
