Former Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes would allegedly prefer to move abroad than sign for another Premier League club.

Former Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes is reportedly looking to sign for a foreign club in the coming weeks.

Having been restricted to just 10 appearances since breaking into the first team, the 19-year-old opted to turn down the offer of a new contract at Old Trafford.

While the prospect has been linked with a switch to Chelsea, manager Frank Lampard has denied suggestions that the Blues are attempting to sign Gomes on a free transfer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the playmaker is targeting a move abroad, rather than eyeing up a more lucrative switch to another Premier League club.

At a time when clubs from Spain, Germany, France and Portugal are said to be interested, the report suggests that Gomes will bide his time before making a decision.
