Former Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs has urged the club to make at least six more signings to become competitive at the top level once again.

Former Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs has urged the club to make at least six more signings to make them competitive at the top level again.

The Red Devils have endured a difficult start to the current season, with their 3-1 win over Norwich City at the weekend just their third in 10 league games.

Speaking to the United Stand, Giggs indicated that more attacking additions would help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men push on, saying: "We need to bring quality in.

"Ole has brought three in who are all doing well. His dealings have been very good so far.

"Give him the money other managers have had to get Man United players.

"Get another five or six players like that in [and] we will see a real difference."

United return to action on Wednesday when they travel to face Chelsea in the EFL Cup, before they then hit the road again on Saturday to take on Eddie Howe's Bournemouth.
