Galatasaray could make a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir this summer, according to a report.

Galatasaray are reportedly considering making a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir during this summer's transfer window, with the Turk having a low-key first season at Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Fenerbahce last summer in response to the Red Devils allowing Dean Henderson to make the switch to Crystal Palace.

Bayindir was always coming in as number two, with Andre Onana signed as the first-choice goalkeeper following David de Gea's departure on a free transfer.

However, the Turkey international was surprisingly overlooked in the EFL Cup earlier this season and his only appearance - against Newport County in the FA Cup - came when Onana was with the Cameroon squad at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Bayindir had been expected to receive a run in the side when Onana was at the tournament, but as it transpired, the summer arrival from Inter Milan was only absent for one Man United game.

According to A Spor, Galatasaray are keeping a close eye on the situation, with the club considering making a move for the goalkeeper during this summer's transfer window.

Bayindir is believed to be content for the time being, but he could be presented with the chance to represent another of Turkey's powerhouse clubs.

The goalkeeper started his professional career with Ankaragucu before making the move to Fenerbahce in 2019, and he represented the club on 145 occasions before his departure.

Bayindir won the 2022-23 Turkish Cup, while he has been capped on eight occasions by his country, including three appearances in 2023.

After making his debut against Newport County, Bayindir said that he was eyeing "more games" for the 20-time English champions, but his route into the first team is firmly blocked by Onana.

"Of course, I always want to play more games, but we have a good relationship with all the goalkeepers," he told MUTV at the time.

"If the manager will give [us a] chance, we will play and we will give everything. We know our responsibility because we are playing in a big club, we need to give [our all] every day, every game, we need everything.

"Of course, I want to play with this great team, this great atmosphere, and in Old Trafford. I want to play in there with the fans."

Bayindir is currently with the Man United squad preparing for Sunday's Premier League clash with Luton Town.
