Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he was tempted to move for Didier Drogba when the Ivorian announced his Chelsea departure.
Drogba, 34, joined Shanghai Shenhua from the Blues this summer, however, Ferguson has insisted that he was keen to approach the forward.
"The decision was his anyway and he said if he was going to leave Chelsea, he wouldn't play for another club in England. So that answered the question, but I could've been [tempted to move for Drogba]," Ferguson told The Mirror.
United face Shenhua in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
