Everton close in on Leighton Baines deal?

Everton are reported to be close to agreeing a new contract with defender Leighton Baines.

Everton are reportedly close to agreeing a contract extension with defender Leighton Baines.

Manager Roberto Martinez recently insisted that he was keen to tie the England full-back down to a new deal at Goodison Park following interest from Manchester United.

The 29-year-old is now expected to sign fresh terms with the Toffees by the end of the week, according to Sky Sports News.

Baines joined Everton from Wigan Athletic in 2009 for around £6m.
