Gianluca di Marzio: 'Chelsea lead Richarlison race'

Respected Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio says that Chelsea lead the race to sign Fluminense forward Richarlison this summer.

Respected Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has claimed that Chelsea are ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Fluminense forward Richarlison in this summer's transfer window.

The 20-year-old has scored 15 times in 60 first-team appearances for his Brazilian club since joining from America Mineiro in 2016.

Man United and AC Milan have previously been credited with an interest in the Brazilian, but according to Di Marzio, Premier League champions Chelsea are the favourites to conclude a deal ahead of the new European season.

Richardson, who has scored three times in 10 appearances for Brazil's Under-20 outfit, is said to be valued in the region of £12m.

Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata have all arrived at Chelsea this summer, with the latter completing a club-record £55m move from Real Madrid at the end of last week.
