Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is reportedly closing in on a permanent move to Nottingham Forest.
The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at the City Ground, but he was reduced to just 20 appearances in all competitions after sustaining a thigh injury in January.
Henderson has since returned to Man United's Carrington training complex to recover ahead of the new season, but he is not expected to join Erik ten Hag's first-team squad on their pre-season tour of the USA.
Last summer, the English shot-stopper slammed Man United for their "criminal" treatment of him two seasons ago when he made just three first-team appearances, despite being given assurances of regular starts ahead of David de Gea.
Although De Gea has now departed Old Trafford on a free transfer, Henderson does not see his future on the red side of Manchester and is hoping to secure a permanent move away from the club in search of regular first-team football.

According to the Daily Mail, Henderson is set to return to Forest this summer on a permanent basis in a deal worth around £20m.
The repot adds that Henderson will be able to finalise his switch to the City Ground as soon as Man United have completed the signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The Red Devils are understood to have agreed a fee with Inter to sign the Cameroon international following a lengthy spell of negotiations, and they are looking to formerly announce his arrival at the club later this week.
Forest are keen to restore Henderson as their number one goalkeeper having parted ways with January loan signing Keylor Navas, who has returned to parent club Paris Saint-Germain.

With De Gea having left and Henderson also set to depart, Man United could also lose a third goalkeeper this summer as Tom Heaton has been linked with a potential switch to either Luton Town or Everton.
The Red Devils are believed to have offered the 37-year-old a new one-year contract to keep him at the club, but they could be persuaded to part ways if they can recruit a second goalkeeper along with Onana this summer.
Recent reports claim that Ten Hag's side are hoping to strike a deal with Japanese outfit Urawa Red Diamonds to sign 20-year-old goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.
United are allegedly looking to pay in the region of £5m for Suzuki, who has made just eight J1 League appearances since his debut two years ago.
