David de Gea's agent will reportedly travel to Turkey this week to meet with Fenerbahce to discuss a possible switch to the club for the experienced goalkeeper.
The 32-year-old's contract at Old Trafford came to an end on Friday, with the Spaniard unable to come to an agreement with the 20-time English champions over a new deal.
Man United remain in talks with De Gea over a possible return, but the Red Devils are currently pushing to sign Inter Milan's Andre Onana, so a return to Erik ten Hag's side at this stage is thought to be unlikely.
According to Fotomac, Fenerbahce have scheduled a meeting with De Gea's agent to discuss the possibility of bringing him to the Turkish giants on a free transfer.
The report claims that the Super Lig outfit are expected to make a formal offer for the stopper, who still wants to return to Man United despite being unhappy with the club's conduct.

De Gea has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but the Spaniard has allegedly made it clear that he wants to continue his career in European football.
The goalkeeper made the move to Man United from Atletico Madrid in 2011, and he has represented the club on 545 occasions in all competitions, keeping 190 clean sheets in the process.
De Gea was again the club's number one last season, making 58 appearances, keeping 25 clean sheets, with 17 of those shutouts coming in the Premier League, as he won the Golden Glove.
The stopper made a number of high-profile errors, though, notably against West Ham United in the Premier League and Sevilla in the Europa League.

De Gea's struggles in terms of playing out from the back were also highlighted last season, with the Spaniard finding it difficult to adapt to Ten Hag's brand of football.
Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton are currently the only two senior goalkeepers at Old Trafford, with Jack Butland's loan deal from Crystal Palace coming to an end.
Henderson is widely expected to move to Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis, though, and Heaton is not considered to be a possible number one.
Onana is said to be the club's leading target between the sticks, but Brentford's David Raya and Brighton & Hove Albion's Robert Sanchez have also been linked with moves to the club.
Man United confirmed the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea on Wednesday morning, and the England international will wear the famous number seven shirt for the club.
