Report: David de Gea move to Real Madrid falls through at last minute

David de Gea's move to Real Madrid reportedly falls through after paperwork was not completed on time for the Spanish transfer deadline.

David de Gea's move to Real Madrid may have fallen through, after reports that La Liga did not receive the final paperwork needed to complete the deal in time for the 11pm Spanish transfer deadline.

The goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Real Madrid throughout the summer, and is yet to appear for Manchester United this season.

"The documents did not arrive on time!!!!!! Presentation was ready. All agreed. But as it stands de Gea stays at MUFC!!" Sky Sports News journalist Guillem Balague said on Twitter.

Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas was due to move to Manchester United as part of the deal.
