Chelsea 'to block Callum Hudson-Odoi exit'

Chelsea reportedly tell 18-year-old England international Callum Hudson-Odoi that he will not be leaving the club this summer amid interest from Liverpool and Man Utd.

Chelsea have reportedly told Callum Hudson-Odoi that he will not be allowed to leave the club this summer.

Hudson-Odoi submitted a transfer request during the January window amid interest from Bayern Munich, but Chelsea rejected a string of bids from the German champions to keep hold of the winger.

The 18-year-old was expected to push for a move again when the window reopens at the end of the season in search of more regular first-team football, but The Times reports that he has now been told he will not be leaving.

The likes of Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Hudson-Odoi, whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 2020.

However, the Blues are willing to let him enter the final year of his current deal and potentially miss out on millions in transfer fees in order to keep him at the club for the short term.

Chelsea are currently waiting to hear the outcome of their appeal against a two-window transfer ban and also face the possibility of losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer.

The Blues have offered Hudson-Odoi a contract extension and a significant pay rise up to £80,000 a week, but the teenager wants the guarantee of first-team football before he commits his future to the club.

Hudson-Odoi is yet to start a single Premier League game for Chelsea, but he did make his full international debut for England during the recent international break.
