Chelsea will reportedly not make an attempt to sign experienced striker Edinson Cavani this summer.
The 33-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, but the Blues were allegedly not prepared to meet Paris Saint-Germain's £15m asking price.
The French champions have officially confirmed that Cavani will be leaving the club this summer on a free.
However, according to football.london, Frank Lampard's side have 'no plans' to attempt to bring the South American to the club for the 2020-21 campaign.
Cavani, who has also been linked with Manchester United, is PSG's all-time leading goalscorer with 200 in all competitions, including seven in 22 outings during the current season.
The Blues are instead thought to be closing in on a deal for RB Leipzig's Timo Werner, who is likely to battle Tammy Abraham for the starting spot at the tip of the team's attack.
