Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani reportedly wants to leave Old Trafford to sign for Barcelona during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani will reportedly push to sign for Barcelona during 2022.

The Uruguay international rejected advances from elsewhere to remain at Old Trafford for a second season, but the 34-year-old has barely featured in the team.

Just two starts and six substitute appearances have been made in all competitions, and it remains to be seen whether Cavani features in the plans of new interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

Nevertheless, according to The Times, Cavani has no intention of staying at United in the long term, instead wishing to sign for Barcelona.

The report says that the player wants to fulfil his dream of representing the Catalan giants, and he will be able to hold discussions as soon as next month.

Whether Barcelona will be willing to make an approach at the turn of the year could depend on the future of Sergio Aguero, who is allegedly considering whether to retire due to a heart issue.
