Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers coy over Merih Demiral interest

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers refuses to rule out the prospect of the Foxes making a bid for Juventus defender Merih Demiral this month.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has refused to rule out the prospect of the Foxes making a bid for Juventus defender Merih Demiral this month.

Demiral, despite only moving to Turin over the summer, is said to be keen on leaving the club in January having only made three appearances in Serie A all season.

Reports have claimed that Leicester recently made a bid worth £25m for the 21-year-old that was rejected by the Old Lady.

Speaking on the subject of Demiral, Rodgers told the Daily Mail: "We know what we want to do this window and we'll try. We know we want to strengthen.

"At this stage of the season, all the rumours are there. He's a talented player. There is nothing to add."

Leicester, who are keen to add to their defence in an attempt to preserve the club's top four status, will now reportedly look to sign Demiral on loan until the end of the season.

The Turkey international, valued at around £38m, has also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United.
