Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl says that his club will "try everything" to keep Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho beyond the summer.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has said that his club will "try everything" to keep Jadon Sancho beyond the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

The Englishman returned to BVB on loan in January following the breakdown of his relationship with Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag.

Sancho has scored three goals and registered two assists in 17 appearances for the German club since his return, and he starred in their 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week.

The 24-year-old was coy on his future plans when questioned after the European Cup semi-final first leg against the champions of France.

Ten Hag was also asked about the attacker during his press conference last week, and the Dutchman praised the ex-Manchester City youngster's performance.

Dortmund determined to keep hold of Jadon Sancho

Kehl has confirmed that his club want to keep Sancho this summer, but it remains to be seen whether the German outfit can come to an agreement with Man United.

"We will try everything to keep Jadon Sancho here. But Manchester United also sees how well he is playing at the moment. Maybe they also want to sell him for profit or bring him back. We will see," Kehl told Die Welt when asked about the forward.

Sancho initially represented Dortmund between 2017 and 2021 before making the move to Man United, but he has struggled to impress during his time at Old Trafford.

The forward has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances for the Red Devils, and a breakdown in his relationship with the English club's head coach Ten Hag led to him leaving in January.

Is Jadon Sancho's Man United career over?

Ten Hag claimed that he left Sancho out of the squad against Arsenal at the start of September due to some poor performances on the training ground.

However, in a post on social media, Sancho insisted that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat", and he refused to apologise for effectively branding his manager a liar.

The forward was therefore removed from the first-team picture entirely, and it is very difficult to imagine him playing for Man United again under Ten Hag.

There could be a change of manager at Old Trafford this summer, though, with new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe believed to be considering sacking the Dutchman.

As a result, Sancho's future is likely to depend on what happens with Ten Hag, with Ratcliffe and his INEOS team having a number of big decisions to make in the coming months.
