Bayern Munich have reportedly stolen a march on Manchester United in the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
The 22-year-old Spanish international is believed to be on the verge of a move to Old Trafford, although negotiations have been protracted over the past few weeks.
Spanish newspaper Marca now reports that former Barca manager Pep Guardiola wants Alcantara to link up with him in his new job at the Allianz Arena.
Alcantara is said to be keen on a move away from the Camp Nou in order to boost his chances of making the Spanish squad for next year's World Cup.
