Arsenal are not actively pursuing a deal for Rennes protege Eduardo Camavinga, according to a report.
Mikel Arteta's side are thought to be closing in on the signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht but could yet bolster their midfield ranks further ahead of the new season.
Eighteen-year-old Camavinga has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka - expected to complete a move to Roma - although Manchester United have supposedly made progress in their efforts to sign the midfielder.
Now, football.london reports that there is no truth in reports linking Arsenal to Camavinga, and a source close to the teenager labelled the links "absolute rubbish".
Rennes are supposedly happy to sanction a sale for a cut-price figure of £25.7m given the fact that Camavinga will be out of contract in 2022, but Man United could face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.
Arsenal's midfield ranks have also been depleted by the exit of Matteo Guendouzi, who confirmed his departure on Monday morning ahead of an expected move to Marseille.
