Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on the situation of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, who is in the final 18 months of his contract.

Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the situation of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The England international endured a difficult 2021-22 season, registering just five goals and two assists in 32 appearances.

Following the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Rashford has discovered his best form this term, scoring 21 goals and providing eight assists across 34 games.

The 25-year-old also scored three times in five appearances for England at the 2022 World Cup before they were eliminated at the quarter-final stage by France.

In December, Man United triggered a one-year extension in Rashford's contract, which now runs until the summer of 2024.

However, with less than 18 months to run on his deal, there is uncertainty surrounding the striker's future at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are keen to agree a new long-term deal with Rashford, who has attracted interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain over the last few seasons.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are keeping tabs on the Englishman's contract situation as they consider a potential move.

The report states that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a "huge fan" of Rashford and has previously registered an interest with the player's representatives.

The Gunners currently have two senior central strikers a the club - Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah - while Folarin Balogun is impressing on his loan spell with French side Reims.

Balogun is currently the top scorer in Ligue 1 with 15 goals, but Arsenal are yet to make a decision over his long-term future with the club.

The Gunners appear to be keeping their options open, and have identified Rashford as a potential target, but they could face competition for his signature if he is unable to agree a new deal with Man United.

German champions Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Rashford as a permanent replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who left the Bavarians to join Barcelona last summer.

Man United are set to go up against Lewandowski and his Barcelona teammates at Camp Nou this evening in the first leg of their Europa League playoff tie.
