Midfielder Michael Carrick reflects on an "emotional" and "special" day for Manchester United.

Michael Carrick has described today's Premier League trophy presentation for Manchester United as "a special, special day" for the club.

Following the 2-1 victory over Swansea City at Old Trafford, the players were handed the title for a 13th time during the Premier League era - and a 20th overall.

It also marked Sir Alex Ferguson's last match in charge of the team at home before he retires next weekend. Reflecting on his manager's decision, Carrick conceded that it had also been "an emotional day" for all concerned.

"It's been an emotional day for everyone. It was a strange feeling and it's been like that all week. It was a special, special day," he told BBC Sport.

"Even in the changing room he tried to keep it as normal as possible but in the back of your mind you were thinking this is the last one. With the reception he got, it was amazing."

Carrick has won five league titles since he joined United in 2006.
