Manchester United 'backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite Mauricio Pochettino reports'

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has the full support of Manchester United despite back-to-back losses, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly view Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a 'long-term appointment' and are not considering relieving the Norwegian of his duties despite back-to-back defeats.

The Red Devils followed last weekend's home defeat to Arsenal with a 2-1 loss away to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

A recent report claimed that United had approached former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino over the possibility of replacing Solskjaer at the helm.

However, according to Sky Sports News, the club's former striker 'retains the support' of the board heading into Saturday's key Premier League fixture with Everton at Goodison Park.

United have only picked up seven points from their opening six matches of the 2020-21 Premier League season, which has left them in 15th position in the table.

Solskjaer refused to comment on his future when questioned in the aftermath of the European defeat in Istanbul.
