Louis van Gaal: 'Ashley Young fits in my profile'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal suggests that winger Ashley Young is the kind of player that fits in his profile following an impressive season at Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has suggested that winger Ashley Young is a player that fits in his profile.

Young has proved a revelation for United this season in a full-back position, with the England international also producing a match-winning display against Newcastle United in his traditional role as a winger.

"He is a player who wants to perform what you say. I think he fits good in my profile," Van Gaal told the club's television channel.

"We have played also with wing-backs and I think that is his best position.

"Now I use him as a winger and he does a very good job. I am pleased with him."

United currently hold fourth spot in the Premier League standings.
