Luke Shaw hails impact of Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United

Luke Shaw hails the contribution of Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United following his January move from Sporting Lisbon.

Luke Shaw has hailed the contribution of Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United following his January move from Sporting Lisbon.

The Portuguese international completed his protracted switch to Old Trafford last month and he has since drawn plaudits for his performances.

Fernandes got a goal and an assist in Sunday's 3-0 win over Watford but Shaw says his contribution has been just as big off the pitch.

Speaking to MUTV, Shaw said: "He's had a massive impact. He's only been here for such a short time but it feels like he's been here for a while.

"You can tell he was a leader at Sporting and I think he wants to bring that leadership skill here to help the team as much as he can off the pitch as well as on it. Hopefully he can keep that up, he's not been here long but he's already shining for us and it's great to see."

United face Club Brugge on Thursday in the second leg of their last-32 tie in the Europa League.
