Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is a high-maintenance coach with a big ego.
The Dutchman led the German side to a league and cup double and the final of the Champions League in his first year in charge, after Rummenigge appointed him in 2009.
Van Gaal was dismissed towards the end of his second season in charge, and Rummenigge has admitted that their relationship was not always an easy one.
"As soon as he presented his autobiography in a snobby restaurant, I knew hard times were ahead," ITV Sport quotes Rummenigge as saying.
"Louis van Gaal was not always easy-care. He wanted to 'Vangaalise' our club. He has a huge ego."
Van Gaal took charge at Old Trafford in July.
