Roy Keane has advised Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to "shut up and get on with your job".
Mourinho has been seemingly critical of United fans in recent weeks, gesturing that they be quiet during the side's slender victory over Tottenham Hotspur and aiming a subtle dig at their support in his ensuing programme notes.
Keane spent 12 years at Old Trafford during his playing career, winning 17 trophies under Sir Alex Ferguson, and thinks that Mourinho is losing "focus" in his own quest for silverware at the club by listening to the naysayers.
"My only concern with Mourinho is that he seems to be distracted by the so-called critics out there," he told ITV. "He's probably paid £8m to £9m a year. Focus on your job.
"Rise above all that. You should be better than that. But he seems to get easily upset.
"Just shut up and get on with your job, you're getting very well paid for it."
Meanwhile, a United supporters' group have invited Mourinho to a meeting to discuss their concerns.
