Cristiano Ronaldo refuses to rule out Manchester United return

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo refuses to rule out a return to Manchester United before the end of his career.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to rule out a return to Manchester United.

The current Ballon d'Or holder left Old Trafford for Los Blancos for around £80m in 2009, and ahead of the two sides' meeting in the United States on Saturday, the Portugal international has hinted that he may one day come back to his former club.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "Of course, it was one of my favourite clubs, Manchester, everyone knows that every time when I speak about Real Madrid I should speak about Manchester United, I love it there.

"I was 18 years old [when I moved], I won everything there. The people treat me like a god there so I appreciate it and in the future nobody knows."

Ronaldo signed for United from Sporting Lisbon in 2003.
