Manchester United on red alert as Xavi unsure on future?

Manchester United will look to take advantage of Barcelona's shake-up and bring Xavi to Old Trafford, according to reports.

Manchester United will look to take advantage of the upcoming shake-up at Barcelona and tempt Xavi into moving to Old Trafford, reports suggest.

The 34-year-old, who is currently away on international duty with Spain, has already admitted to his admiration for Louis van Gaal, and the pair could link up again in England next season.

According to The Express, the arrival of new Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has cast doubt over Xavi's long-term future with the Catalan giants, despite the Spaniard previously insisting that he would only leave Camp Nou when he is no longer wanted.

Xavi's current deal expires in 2016, though it is suggested that he could be the next player to be shown the door as Barcelona start rebuilding after a poor season.

Cesc Fabregas has already been moved on by Enrique, with Sevilla captain Ivan Rakitic set to replace him.
