Poll shows Manchester United fans blame Sir Alex Ferguson for current form

A poll by Manchester United fanzine Red Issue says that 40.57% of those polled believe that Sir Alex Ferguson is to blame for the club's league position.

A survey conducted by Manchester United fanzine Red Issue has found that 40.57% of those polled believe that former manager Sir Alex Ferguson is to blame for the club's current form and league position.

Ferguson, who left the Red Devils last summer, reportedly handpicked David Moyes as his successor, but since the former Everton manager took charge, United have slipped to seventh in the Premier League, and lost 3-0 to rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

The club's owners, the Glazers, are blamed by 32.55%, while 17.45% feel that it is Moyes who is at fault for United's poor run of form, The Mirror reports.

The players are blamed by 4.25% of those quizzed, while 3.77% feel that chief executive Ed Woodward is responsible.

United play West Ham United on Saturday, before facing rivals Manchester City.
