David Moyes has no room for sentiment on Everton return

Manchester United boss David Moyes insists that there is no room for him to be sentimental on his first return to Everton since leaving them for Old Trafford.

Manchester United boss David Moyes has insisted that he will not let sentiment get in the way of him picking up a positive result on his first return to Everton.

The Scot visits Goodison Park on Wednesday for the first time since ending his 11-year tenure there to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford in the summer.

Moyes has revealed that he will likely share pleasantries with his former players and staff after the game, but has stressed that he will put his emotions to one side until the final whistle.

"After the game I will be the first one to go and see the Everton players and say hello to them. I'll have a drink with the old staff at Everton, no doubt about that," he told reporters.

"But there can't be any emotion because it's not me. I've got another club now and my club is United, and that's the one I'm interested in getting results for and winning for."

With Michael Carrick injured and Phil Jones suspended, former Toffees midfielder Marouane Fellaini is expected to start tomorrow night, and Moyes has backed the Belgian to prove himself at Old Trafford.
