Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho tells world-record signing Paul Pogba to forget about his price-tag and instead focus on his football.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has told world-record signing Paul Pogba to forget about his price-tag following the midfielder's testing start to the new season.

Pogba joined United for a record fee of £89m in the summer and produced a standout display during his debut against Southampton in the Premier League.

Since then, however, the Frenchman has come in for criticism after some indifferent showings against both Manchester City and Feyenoord, but Mourinho has since urged the 23-year-old to purely focus on his football.

"The world-record player is always a question, but I want Paul to forget that," said Mourinho, according to BBC Sport.

"He played in the Euro 2016 final, went on holiday, then had no pre-season. It is normal after the first game he has a little decrease.

"I am full of trust because I know he is a good guy with a lot of ambition, so the form will come naturally."

Mourinho's United currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League standings after four games played.
