Jose Mourinho: 'Liverpool just another match'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says that facing Liverpool on Saturday will be "just another match" in his side's season.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he will be treating tomorrow's heavyweight showdown with Liverpool as "just another match" in the club's season.

The Red Devils sit seven points clear of their old rivals heading into the game at Anfield and have dropped just two points so far this term.

United are also on a run of five straight wins in all competitions, scoring 16 goals in the process, and despite the prestige of the occasion, Mourinho is adamant that it will be business as usual against Jurgen Klopp's out-of-form side.

"This is just one more match, October for me is just another month," he told reporters. "There are no easy matches, I have told my players since the start of the season that every point is important.

"Last season we lost a few points before we played Liverpool, we lost points in games you consider easy.

"[This game] could be first, eighth or last. Maybe if it was the last then it would be more important but it is October, so for me is just another match.

"I understand the tradition and emotions around supporters. We have to look at it in professional way. Every match is important. No match is easy. If I try this mentality I am not going to say this game is more important than others."

The two sides played out a goalless draw in the equivalent fixture last season.
