Manchester United are concerned that Mason Greenwood could throw his career away at Old Trafford following a difficult start to the season, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly concerned that teenage protege Mason Greenwood may not be able to fulfil his full potential at Old Trafford.

The striker has already shown plenty of promise in a United shirt with 19 goals to his name in all competitions, but Greenwood has struggled to make an impact for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season.

The 19-year-old is spending the international break at home having not been called up for England's senior or Under-21 squads, although Greenwood is understood to be dealing with some personal problems.

Nevertheless, The Mirror reports that United are concerned about the prospect of Greenwood's career going downhill and are desperate for the youngster to hit the heights they believe he can reach.

The report claims that Solskjaer and co have developed a strategy in order to kickstart a turnaround in fortunes for Greenwood, with United chiefs hoping to avoid another Ravel Morrison-type situation.

Greenwood has netted twice for United this season but is yet to get off the mark in the 2020-21 Premier League campaign.
