Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on appointing Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui, if they fail to assign Ajax's Erik Ten Hag.
The current Ajax manager reportedly had an interview with the Red Devils on Monday, and is seemingly their top target in front of Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Lopetegui has shown positive traits by leading Sevilla to Europa League glory in 2020 and currently has his side sitting second in La Liga.
Spanish outlet Marca reports that the 55-year-old will be Man United's next target if they fail to agree terms with Ajax and Ten Hag, which could all occur within the next week.
After a two-year spell as Spain's national team head coach, Lopetegui returned to Real Madrid but only lasted a short four-month period in the dugout at the Bernabeu, but a successful time with Sevilla has helped him get his managerial career back on track.
The Spaniard has a 62% win percentage throughout his managerial career, and has taken charge of 151 games for Sevilla.
