Phil Jones understands fans' frustration

Manchester United defender Phil Jones acknowledges that it has been a difficult season for supporters of the club.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has admitted that he understands the frustrations of supporters this season.

United are now guaranteed to record their worst finish in the Premier League era and will also be without Champions League football next season after a tumultuous campaign.

Jones acknowledged that it hasn't been a good year for the club, who slipped to their seventh defeat at Old Trafford this season against Sunderland on Saturday.

"They've had a difficult season," Jones told reporters. "It's not been easy for them, especially at Old Trafford. You can understand that totally.

"We're now looking forward to Hull on Tuesday night. The only way to bounce back is to win a match and at least it's coming around quick."

United face Hull City on Tuesday in their final match at Old Trafford this season.
