Roy Hodgson will reportedly not include Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand in his squad for the remaining 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

England manager Roy Hodgson has reportedly decided against welcoming Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand back into the Three Lions set-up.

The 33-year-old has been cast out of the national side since Hodgson opted for Chelsea skipper John Terry over the United centre-back for Euro 2012.

Since Terry's retirement from international football, there have been calls for Ferdinand to reclaim his place in the Three Lions squad but it is understood that the former West Bromwich Albion coach will not include Ferdinand in his team, which is due to be announced on Thursday, according to the Daily Star.

Reports claimed that Ferdinand could not play alongside Terry for England following accusations that the Chelsea player had racially abused Ferdinand's brother, Anton, during a West London derby against Queens Park Rangers almost a year ago.

Terry was later hit with a four-match ban by the Football Association after being found guilty in the racism case.
