Ryan Giggs believes that Manchester United should be "proud" of their performances last season.

Ryan Giggs has spoken of his pride at the performances that Manchester United put in last season.

The veteran midfielder was part of a United squad that was pipped to the Premier League title by rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon on goal difference.

Despite failing to secure the 20th league title in the club's history, Giggs believes that there was plenty to have been pleased with.

"It's disappointing not to win the title, but it has been an exciting season," Giggs told Sky Sports News. "But we're obviously gutted, although we're proud of the way we've played this year.

"There are a lot of positives to take from this season."

Giggs was speaking after he was named the best ever Premier League player.
