Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs insists that decisions "even themselves out over the course of the season" after Fulham were denied a penalty late on in Monday's Premier League encounter.

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs has insisted that decisions "even themselves out over the course of the season" after Fulham were denied a penalty late on in Monday's Premier League encounter.

United secured all three points with a 1-0 win, but controversy emerged late on when referee Michael Oliver failed to award the Cottagers a penalty after United midfielder Michael Carrick had seemingly felled Danny Murphy in the area.

"We had a penalty here against Newcastle that wasn't. They tend to even themselves out over the course of the season," the 38-year-old told MUTV.

United continue their defence of the Premier League title away to Blackburn Rovers next Monday.
