Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has quashed fears that injury will force a lengthy spell on the sidelines for Dimitar Berbatov.
Concerns over the fitness of the striker were raised after the 30-year-old was seen leaving Old Trafford on Wednesday night wearing a protective cast on his right ankle.
"Berbatov's injury isn't serious," said Ferguson. "He got injured the week before. We've been getting a few injuries but it happens. At the moment, we're going through a spell where we're getting a few a week but we have to get on with it."
Meanwhile, reports emerged today that the Bulgarian, along with a number of the Red Devils' fringe players, could face the axe from Old Trafford.
