Chris Smalling says the start to the new season has been "like a dream" for him.
The 21-year-old defender has risen to prominence in a Manchester United side which has won all of their games this season, earning the former Wealdstone man his debut for England in their 3-0 win over Bulgaria on Friday.
"My first month or so couldn't have gone any better, so hopefully the season can carry on like this," he told BBC Sport.
"I'm really enjoying my football. It's gone like a dream."
England take on Wales at Wembley on Tuesday, and Smalling is hoping he gets the nod again in defence.
"It would be another massive occasion for me to play on Tuesday night to play for the senior team at Wembley and hopefully Fabio Capello sticks with me," he added.
Capello's side currently sit top of Group G, leading second-placed Montenegro by three points.
