Danny Welbeck has hailed his Manchester United strike partner Robin van Persie.
The Dutchman has scored 17 Premier League goals since arriving from Arsenal in the summer, including one during this afternoon's 2-1 victory over rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.
"Robin van Persie is different class. He produces moments in the game others can't do and we are glad he is on our side," he told Sky Sports News.
Meanwhile, reflecting on the win over the Merseysiders, Welbeck said that United showed great "character" to hold out following late pressure from their visitors.
"We had our game plan and it worked really well in the first half," he added. "They came into it more in the second half but we got the three points and showed our character."
The victory has extended United's lead to 10 points at the top of the Premier League table.
