Michael Ballack: 'Manchester United made a mistake letting Paul Pogba leave'

Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack feels that Manchester United made a mistake in letting Paul Pogba leave the club back in 2012.

Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack believes that Manchester United made a big mistake in allowing Paul Pogba to leave the club.

The Frenchman joined the Red Devils at the age of 16 from Le Havre, but he failed to break into the first team under Sir Alex Ferguson, despite his promising potential, before leaving in 2012.

Pogba joined Juventus and has thrived in Serie A, becoming one of the most sought-after talents in Europe due to his displays in the heart of the midfield.

"It seems like it was a mistake from Manchester [United] to let him go," Ballack told Sky Sports News.

"He has this desire. His physical ability is there. He also has the nous to read situations, and to be in the box to score goals. He can still improve that, and if he does he can be an outstanding player."

Pogba will be in action in the Champions League final on Saturday when Juventus take on Barcelona in Berlin.
