Manchester United attacker Alexis Sanchez admits 'mental exhaustion'

Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez suggests that he is "psychologically and emotionally exhausted" amid criticism of his form since arriving at the club.

Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez has seemingly admitted that he is "psychologically and emotionally exhausted" amid criticism of his form since his January switch to the club.

The 29-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Arsenal in a high-profile winter transfer, but he has since scored just one goal in 10 appearances for the Red Devils and admitted earlier this week that he expects more from himself.

Sanchez is currently on international duty with Chile, but took to Instagram to suggest that he is trying to battle through his fatigue, posting a message reading: "I know you are tired. I know you are psychologically and emotionally exhausted. But you have to smile and continue."

Sanchez is expected to feature when his side take on Sweden on Saturday.
