Thursday's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup: Alex Telles, Ansu Fati, Arturo Vidal

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Thursday, September 24.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Manchester United eye possible reinforcements.

The Red Devils brought in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in the final days of the winter window but are still expected to be active in the summer as they aim to restore their former glories.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Thursday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:

Manchester United 'will have to pay £25m for Alex Telles'

Manchester United will reportedly have to come up with an offer of €27m (£25m) in order to sign Porto defender Alex Telles before the end of this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils continue to be linked with a move for the Brazil international, and Porto boss Sergio Conceicao recently conceded that the left-back could leave the club before the deadline.

United are said to be reluctant to pay over the odds for Telles considering that the 27-year-old's existing contract in Portugal is due to expire next summer.

However, according to Correio da Manha, the 20-time English champions will need to make an offer of €27m (£25m) in order for Porto to sanction a sale.

The report claims that both the defender's agent Pini Zahavi and Jorge Mendes, who is involved in the deal as an intermediary, will share 15% of any deal.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that Telles's former club Galatasaray are entitled to 10% of a transfer fee, meaning that Porto are facing missing out on a quarter of what United pay if the deal goes through.

The South American has reportedly already agreed terms on a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

Ansu Fati pens new Barcelona deal with £367m release clause

Teenage attacker Ansu Fati has officially signed a new long-term contract with Barcelona, which includes a release clause of €400m (£367m).

The 17-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough 2019-20 campaign at Camp Nou, scoring eight times and registering one assist in 33 appearances for the Catalan giants.

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Manchester United were interested in the teenager and would be prepared to pay a substantial fee to bring him to Old Trafford.

However, the speculation surrounding the attacker's future has now ended as he has penned a new deal until 2024.

The youngster, who has taken on the number 22 shirt following Arturo Vidal's departure, has also seen his release clause rise to €400m (£367m).

Fati became the youngest first-team goalscorer in Barca's history when he netted against Osasuna in La Liga at the age of 16 years and 304 days last August.

Meanwhile, he also recently made history for Spain, becoming the nation's youngest ever goalscorer by registering against Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League earlier this month.
