Louis van Gaal: 'Marcos Rojo didn't warn us about extent of injury'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says that Marcos Rojo did not reveal the extent of his hamstring injury after Sunday's win over Southampton.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that Marcos Rojo did not disclose the extent of a recent hamstring injury.

The Argentine limped out of United's 3-2 victory over Southampton on Sunday.

Van Gaal has since confirmed that the defender will play no part in tonight's Capital One Cup tie against Ipswich Town.

"I thought we were right on time for Rojo because we changed him in the game and he didn't warn us he was injured, but he has a hamstring injury," Van Gaal told reporters.

Paddy McNair is also injured, meaning that Phil Jones will be available for tonight's third-round match at Old Trafford.

Rojo has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, despite only signing for the Red Devils in the summer, but the player's agent has rubbished the reports.
