Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is stretchered off during his side's 5-0 victory over Manchester United, following a red-card challenge from Paul Pogba.

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita was stretchered off during this afternoon's Premier League clash against Manchester United.

The 26-year-old was something of a surprise inclusion in the starting XI from Jurgen Klopp, having been taken off at half time of the Champions League win over Atletico Madrid in midweek.

However, he scored the opening goal after just five minutes, before adding an assist for Mohamed Salah just before half time as Liverpool ran riot at Old Trafford.

Liverpool were 5-0 ahead before Keita was on the end of a two-footed challenge from Paul Pogba, which led to the Manchester United midfielder being sent off on the hour mark - just 15 minutes after coming on - following a VAR review.

Keita needed treatment on the field and was eventually carried off on a stretcher with an apparent ankle injury.

The Guinea international was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, adding to Liverpool's injury troubles in midfield after James Milner had also limped off earlier in the match.

The visitors were without Fabinho from the start, while Thiago Alcantara is also currently sidelined for Klopp's men.
