Marcus Rashford will reportedly step up his recovery from a shoulder injury by featuring in a behind-closed-doors Manchester United friendly on Wednesday.

Marcus Rashford is reportedly in contention to feature in a friendly for Manchester United on Wednesday.

Having undergone shoulder surgery during the summer, Rashford has not made an appearance since his brief outing for England in the Euro 2020 final on July 11.

The 23-year-old has been tipped to make a return after the international break, and it appears that the forward is in line to meet that target.

On Twitter, BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone said: "There is closed doors match for Manchester United today. Phil Jones will be involved.

"Decision to be made over Marcus Rashford as still relatively early in return to contact training. Either way, points towards his involvement at Leicester, which is handy given other absences."

While injury-hit Jones was included in the squad for the EFL Cup tie against West Ham United, the centre-back did not make an appearance as a substitute.
